Elderflower Go Boom!

We were sitting around.
Peri was having dinner.
We were talking.

All of a sudden - KaBoom!

Took us a while to figure out what had happened.
What a mess.
One of the elderflower wine bottles exploded.
These are 20 ounce Pepsi bottles.

Note how deformed the bottles are.
We opened all of them - slowly - to let the carbonation escape.
These bottles started life in Pepsi bottle shape.
They were full.
They still hold the same amount, but the bottles have ballooned.

A fine time was had by all.

Raspberry Elderflower Beverage

We are enjoying the elderflower wine.
I doubt that it is very alcoholic.

It tastes kind of like Fresca.
Until the bottle is opened, it is clear,
with a sediment on the bottom.
As soon as you open it, the bubbles mix it up,
and it's cloudy.

It's still quite sweet,
so I added unsweetened raspberry juice.

Wow, is it ever good!!!

Elderflower wine is made in the spring,
from the flowers that will become elderberries.

The recipe and pictures for making the
elderflower wine are available.

Let me know if you want the address.
